  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and optionally your company name and phone number.
  • Project data: Information you enter into our calculators, including square footage, material selections, ZIP codes, and project descriptions.
  • Photos: If you use our AI photo analysis feature, we process the images you upload to generate cost estimates. Photos are stored securely and used only for estimate generation.
  • Payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers.
  • Communications: If you contact us via email, we retain the correspondence to respond to your inquiry and improve our Service.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: We track how many estimates you generate per month for the purpose of enforcing plan limits. For anonymous users, this is tied to a hashed IP address (not your raw IP).
  • Device and browser information: We collect standard log data including browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages viewed.
  • Cookies and tracking technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising (see Section 5).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Generate construction cost estimates based on your inputs
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts)

  • Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time.
  • Estimates and project data: Retained for as long as your account is active to allow you to access past estimates. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Uploaded photos: Retained for up to 90 days for estimate processing, then automatically deleted.
  • Anonymous usage data: Hashed IP records are retained for 12 months, then automatically purged.
  • Payment records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transmissions
  • Encryption at rest for stored data
  • Secure authentication via Supabase with email verification
  • Payment data handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant Stripe infrastructure
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Export your data in a portable format
